This is CRUCIAL. If the network receives thousands of letters from us, they WILL hear us loud and clear.
You personal hand-written letters are one of THE MOST EFFECTIVE ways you can help the show! The networks WILL READ THEM, and they really take them to heart. They discuss your letters with each other and pass them around during meetings.
Letters have a HUGE impact because the network sees that you cared enough to put a pen to paper, buy a stamp, and send them snail mail. We KNOW that the network will read your letter, so let’s write!
Here are a few DO’s and DON’T’s to help you out:
DO tell them your age, gender, and where you live in general so they see what a diverse fan base FlashForward has.
DO let them know if you are not a Nielsen viewer. Stress that your viewing still counts.
DO be polite and respectful.
DON’T threaten to boycott ABC. That has no impact.
DON’T diss their other shows (like “V”). Stick to FlashForward
DON’T mention anything negative about the show. If there’s something you don’t like in the storylines, don’t write about it. Don’t bring up things that are negative about the show (like the ratings). We don’t want to give them reasons to justify canceling it. Keep it positive!
DO tell them if you watch your episodes in some way (legally) other than live on TV: iTunes, Hulu, ABC Player for iPad, etc.
DO tell them you want FlashForward to get another season.
DO handwrite your letter if you can.
DON’T send a form letter. It’s okay to look at a few examples, but please write your own thoughts.
DO commit to supporting the sponsors (especially Sprint, the major sponsor) and recruiting new fans.
DO encourage fans you know who are not on Facebook to write letters, too. Every letter counts!
DO include a friendship bracelet if you would like to!
DO write TODAY (and then again if you can)!
US fans: It costs less than $1 to send a letter. Let’s all commit to writing one and sticking it in the mail. Fans outside of the US: Please consider writing one letter or sending a postcard to ABC. It would really make a huge difference.
EVERYONE, PUT A PEN TO PAPER, STICK IT IN AN ENVELOPE, PUT A STAMP ON IT, AND MAIL IT!
Make your Own FlashForward
This could quite possibly be the most exciting thing you could do. Whether or not you can attend on of the “Blackout” you can make a huge impact and have your own flash forward.
Video record yourself “Blacking Out” And having a “FlashForward. The post whatever footage your have to youtube and send us the link. If we can get enough videos submissions, we can piece together all of them and create a montage or “MOSAIC” of all the FlashForwards like in the show. If that doesnt show devotion to the TV program, not sure what would.
Red Panda Network
SAVE FLASHFORWARD supports The Red Panda Network in their efforts to protect the red panda, an endangered species, in its natural habitat. In honor of Red Panda Resources, the humanitarian group that appears on the show, we are using a portion of our fundraising to adopt several red pandas. Our funds will help stop the destruction of the their habitat in Nepal and India.
